Robert Quarrell

Community Supporter

I have retired from my career in HGV driving at Powys Country Council, after 40 years’ service. My retired life consists of golf, bowls and walking next doors boxer!

I am a volunteer for Brecon Lions, which means I am often supporting local causes by collecting funds, organising dinners amongst lots of other things. I am most famous in my community for wearing a big red suite and a white beard (Father Christmas!).

From my work and life experiences I have developed good people skills, and the ability to problem solve.

I was first introduced to Cartrefi by a fellow Brecon Lion and Cartrefi staff member who informed me of the Co-op and encouraged me to join. Brecon Lions and Cartrefi formed a partnership which has grown over the years.

I am thankful to be fit and healthy and love give something back to the community, now I have the time. Being a representative on the Council of Members will help me achieve this!
