Originally from the Llŷn Peninsula, I graduated in medicine at Manchester University before undertaking a Masters degree in Health Care Management at Swansea. I spent some time as Junior Doctor Co-ordinator at the Welsh Assembly Government before fulfilling my ambition of returning to North West Wales to work as a GP.

I came across Cartrefi Cymru as a result of my own son's additional needs - he has non-verbal autism and severe learning disability.  Being on the 'receiving end' made me realise how important Cartrefi Cymru is to individuals and their families, and made me wish to be part of it.  I'm particularly interested in the physical and mental health and wellbeing of Cartrefi's service users, and hope my 'day job' will bring some experience of these matters to the table.  General practice is all about looking at the big picture, holistically.  For me, Cartrefi is a core part of that big picture!

As well as working as a GP, I am a board member of Antur Waunfawr and Gwynedd & Mon School Music Services.  I am also a member of the British Medical Association, Chair of Governors at Ysgol Y Garnedd Primary School in Bangor, Parent Governor of Tsgol Tryfan Secondary School in Bangor and Committee member and Treasurer of the Gwynedd and Anglesey Asperges and Autism support group.
